Delivery methods

IBM® Aspera® ensures rapid, accurate, and reliable delivery of large files. IP Whitelisting isn't required for delivery. You will be provided connection to the Prime Video delivery end-point during the onboarding process.

There are two Aspera options available for transferring files to Prime Video:

Aspera Shares enables you to deliver content via a web portal with no additional license requirements or costs.

Configuring the Aspera Desktop Client

To configure the Aspera Desktop Client for delivery to Prime Video, you must adjust the connection settings in the Aspera Connection Manager.

The username and password you received during onboarding is required. You also must enter the address for the host to which you will be delivering. Prime Video uses a DNS round robin system to manage its reception fleet. Use aivdelivery.com as the domain name in place of a static IP host in the Host address text box.

Below is a sample screenshot from the Aspera Desktop Client.

After logging in, you will see subfolders for each region:

  • region_DE
  • region_JP
  • region_UK
  • region_US
  • region_GLOBAL

Source assets must be delivered to the subfolder matching the distribution territory.

Using Aspera Shares for file delivey

To use Aspera Shares, go to https://shares.aivdelivery.com and enter the username and password received during onboarding.

After logging in, you will see subfolders for each region:

  • region_DE
  • region_JP
  • region_UK
  • region_US
  • region_GLOBAL

Source assets must be delivered to the subfolder matching the distribution territory.

You can send files individually by clicking Upload File or to transfer all files in a folder, click Upload Folder.

Uploading files using Aspera Shares is a manual process and can't be automated. To integrate the delivery process into your internal systems, you must purchase an Aspera Desktop Client license.

Using Aspera Command-line Interface for file delivery

Files can be delivered through Aspera CLI using the username and password received during onboarding. Use aivdelivery.com as the dest_host parameter.

The following is a sample command to upload a local file, test.txt, to the region_US subfolder.

ascp test.txt HollywoodSuperPost@aivdelivery.com:/region_US/

Aspera CLI will prompt you for your password by default. Alternatively, provide your password using the environment variable, ASPERA_SCP_PASS.
